This privacy statement was developed to provide the information you need to make smart privacy choices, including:

Collection and Usage of Personal Information

Source provides technical product services to end-users on behalf of its original equipment manufacturer, original design manufacturer, contract manufacturer and system integrator customers. To effectively deliver these services, Source obtains and stores relevant personal information. “Personal information” is any information that can be used to identify an individual, and may include name, address, email address, phone number, login information (account number, password), marketing preferences, social media account information, or payment information. If we link other data with your personal information, we will treat that linked data as personal information.

Data Related to Delivering, Improving & Developing Our Products and Services for Our Customers
Source collects and stores personal information including customer information for the purpose of providing services on their behalf, end-user contact information that is shared by our customers for the sole purpose of performing required services, and for the use of marketing promotional content to market and sell our services. This includes using personal data for the purposes of:

  • Sending communications to you in relation to Source’s service solutions, your account and customer satisfaction
  • Processing an order, including payment transactions
  • Creating an account on a website or within a Solution
  • Administering and processing training certification content and assessments
  • Performing technical support services on behalf of our customers
  • Providing customer service
  • Enabling the use of certain features of our services
  • and for other legitimate purposes permitted by applicable law

Field Engineer Training and Certification Information
Source stores personal and company information and agreements with our Source Techworks Field Service technicians who perform on-site services on behalf of our customers, collects and stores contact information, volunteered personal information (such as pictures, personal interests, etc.), skillset and work experience, completion of a partner affiliated background check, on-site performance as well as training course completion and performance in our eLearning platform, called Source Academy. We use this personal data for the purposes of:

  • Alerting Field Service technicians when an eLearning course is administered to them
  • Surveys, Recruitment and/or nurturing messages to our network of Field Service technicians
  • Eligibility to perform onsite service
  • and for other legitimate purposes permitted by applicable law

Data That Helps Us Market and Sell Our Services to Prospective Customers
Source also collects and stores prospective customer information for use in the marketing and selling of our services. This includes personal information such as name, email, postal address, phone number, and social media account information. We also collect information related to marketing promotional content behavior that allows us to track interests in Source service offerings. Source uses this personal data for the purposes of:

  • Advertising products and services for business promotional purposes
  • Personalizing websites, newsletters and other communications
  • Personalizing your Source website and/or service experience
  • Providing you with a newsletter subscription
  • and for other legitimate purposes permitted by applicable law

Permission for 3rd Party Personal Information Usage
If you choose to provide Source with a third party’s personal information (such as name, email, and phone number), you represent that you have the third party’s permission to do so. Examples include forwarding reference or marketing material to a friend or sending job referrals. Third parties may unsubscribe from any future communication by contacting [email protected].

Information Collection Practices

Source collects personal information from five types of individuals (hereafter referred to as “Users”): Source customers, End-Users, Source Employees, Source Techworks Field Service technicians, and prospective clients.

Source may collect personally identifiable information from Users in a variety of ways, including through online forms and other instances where Users are invited to volunteer such information. We may also collect anonymous information about how Users interact with our website. This information is obtained through analysis of server logs and through the use of “cookies” placed on user machines. A cookie is a piece of software that a Web server can store on a PC to identify the User should they visit the website again. While not all of the information that we collect from Users is personally identifiable, it may be associated with personally identifiable information that Users provide us through our website.

Source stores contact information in Source Central, our Service Management and Automation platform. Source leverages security capabilities within Source Central to protect our customer’s end-user contact data against accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access.

Data Subject Information Stored and Exchanged

To effectively deliver technical product services, Source obtains and stores relevant end-user contact information from its customers.

Source collects, processes, and determines how to process your personal information for the following purposes:

  • Source stores customer information for the sole purpose of providing services on their behalf. Other prospective customer information is gathered for use in the marketing and selling of our services; in both cases Source will safeguard this personal information.
  • Source stores Source Techworks Field Service technician information for the purpose of contacting and assigning them field service work on behalf of our customers; Source will safeguard their personal information.

In some cases, our customers may receive Field Service technician information as a part of our service delivery documentation for individual service events. In this case, it is our customer’s responsibility to safeguard this information and provide Source a means to process privacy requests made by individual Field Service technicians.

Access to and Accuracy of Your Personal Information

You can exercise your rights of access and request corrections, suppression, or deactivations under applicable data protection laws directly with Source. If you need additional assistance, or help with accessing, correcting, suppressing, or deleting your personal information, please contact [email protected]. We make good faith efforts to honor reasonable requests to access, delete, update, suppress, or correct your data. We will respond to your request within 30 days. If we are unable to honor your request, we will provide you with an explanation.

Retention of Personal Information

We will retain your personal information for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected unless a longer retention period is required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, protect our assets, or enforce agreements. The criteria we use to determine retention periods include whether:

  • We are under a legal, contractual or other obligation to retain personal information, or as part of an investigation or for litigation purposes
  • Personal information is needed to maintain accurate business and financial records
  • You have consented to us retaining your personal information for a longer retention period, in which case, we will retain personal data in line with your consent

European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) Privacy Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information that we collect. We make certain personal information available to strategic partners that work with us to provide our products and services or help us market to customers. Personal information will only be shared by us with these companies in order to provide or improve our products, services, and advertising; it will not be shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes without your prior express consent.

Service Vendors
We share personal information with companies that provide services on our behalf, such as website hosting, email services, auditing, payment processing, fulfilling customer orders, data analytics, conducting customer research and satisfaction surveys, and other services that assist in selling our products and services. These companies are obligated to protect your information and may be located wherever we operate.

Corporate Affiliates and Corporate Business Transactions
We may share personal information with all Source-affiliated companies. In the event of a merger, reorganization, acquisition, joint venture, assignment, spin-off, transfer, or sale or disposition of all or any portion of our business, including in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings, we may transfer any and all personal information to the relevant third party.

Legal Compliance and Security
It may be necessary—by law or as a result of legal process, litigation, or requests from public or governmental authorities within or outside your country of residence—for us to disclose personal information. We may also disclose personal information if we determine that for purposes of national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance, disclosure is necessary or appropriate.

We may also disclose personal information if we determine in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect our rights and pursue available remedies, enforce our terms and conditions, investigate fraud, or protect our operations or users.

Consent to Transfer, Processing and Storage of Personal Information

We share your personal data with authorized Source personnel and third parties who are acting on our behalf in order to provide the products or services you request or to support our relationship with you. These third parties are not authorized by us to use or disclose the information except as necessary to perform services on our behalf pursuant to a contractual obligation or to comply with legal requirements. Source requires such third parties to comply with applicable data protection and privacy laws and agree to implement and maintain appropriate technical and organizational security measures to safeguard the personal data.

By using our websites and services solutions or providing any personal information to us, where applicable law permits, you consent to the transfer, processing, and storage of such information outside of your country of residence where data protection standards may be different.

Use of Cookies and Web Technologies

Through our Internet sites, Source will not directly collect any personal data about you (such as your name, address, telephone number or email address), unless you voluntarily choose to provide it (such as by registration or survey), or unless otherwise permitted by applicable laws and regulations with the objective of protecting your personal data.

Like many websites, Source uses automatic data collection tools, such as cookies and embedded web links. These tools collect certain standard information that your browser sends to our website. For example, we use a tool called “Google Analytics” to collect information about use of this site. Google Analytics is a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google utilizes the Data collected to track and examine the use of our site, to prepare reports on its activities and share them with other Google services.

We use information from Google Analytics only to improve our website. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy.

Source does not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate parental or guardian consent. It is not our intent to collect personal data from children.
